  • Photography and filming in the open category, outside restricted zones: no MoD approval.
  • Inside restricted zones, in the specific or certified category, or for mapping: the approval is still required.
  • It is filed through the AEROFOTO application (aerofoto.mapn.ro), the official channel since 22 August 2022.
  • Deadline: at least 7 working days before the flight (art. 5 (6) of Government Decision no. 859/2021).
  • The MoD restriction applies only to zones whose point of contact is [email protected].

Check the zone type and its contact address first. If the zone is restricted or the operation is not in the open category, treat the approval as mandatory and file it early.
