Guide for UAS pilots in Romania
Where you can fly your drone in Romania
There is no single answer for the whole country: it depends on location, altitude, UAS category, active NOTAMs, and operation type (recreation, work, filming). The safe flow is to verify official data for your point and time.
What to check, in a logical order
Start with the UAS zone map (restricted, prohibited, NOTAM activation). Then NOTAM/PIB for your planned window. Filming or sensitive areas may need extra steps (e.g. MoND / Aerofoto). Drone Log helps structure these steps; it does not replace them.
Cities, open fields, tourist areas
Urban areas often have restrictions, crowds, and temporary NOTAMs. Rural sites may offer more space but nearby military areas, aerodromes, or protected sites still apply. Check the exact point, not only the city name.
Use the map check
In Drone Log you set date, time, and duration, mark the point on the airspace map, and get an indicative result (clear, caution, restricted). You can prepare requests and flight logs in the same workflow.
City guides
We publish dedicated pages for major Romanian cities (e.g. Bucharest, Cluj, Brașov) — same logic: map check plus official sources, adapted to your locality.
Drone Log helps you organise checks and paperwork. It does not replace applicable regulations — verify official sources (NOTAM, UAS zones, authorities) before every flight.
