Guide for UAS pilots in Romania

NOTAMs and temporary restrictions for UAS flights

A NOTAM announces temporary changes: danger areas, restrictions, works, events. For UAS pilots, an active NOTAM at your location and time may mean do not fly — even if the UAS map looks clear.

NOTAM vs permanent UAS map

Romanian UAS zones describe general regimes (restricted, prohibited, NOTAM activation, etc.). NOTAMs state what is active now: times, altitude, area. Both must be checked; PIB and official sources remain the reference.

Your time window matters

A NOTAM may be active only between certain hours. In Drone Log you set the planned date and time; the check compares your point with NOTAM polygons from loaded sources. If a NOTAM is active, treat it seriously and confirm with the issuing authority.

Practical steps

Before flight: check NOTAM/PIB, run the map check, note restrictions, and keep planning evidence. Major events often bring extended NOTAMs — do not rely only on past flights in the same place.

Drone Log helps you organise checks and paperwork. It does not replace applicable regulations — verify official sources (NOTAM, UAS zones, authorities) before every flight.
