Guide for UAS pilots in Romania

Flying in subcategory A2 (specific category)

A2 applies to certain operations with aircraft under 2 kg near people, after meeting regulatory requirements including operational assessment. Rules are stricter than A1/A3 — area planning remains essential.

Difference from A1/A3

A2 adds obligations around proximity to uninvolved people and operation documentation. Certificate and assessment do not remove airspace restrictions or active NOTAMs.

Checks before take-off

Choose a point with margin from crowds, schools, hospitals, or prohibited zones. On the Drone Log map you see whether the point intersects UAS zones or NOTAMs at your planned date and time.

Documents and records

Keep your A2 certificate, assessment proof, and aircraft details. In the app you can generate structured requests and a flight log for consistent records.

Drone Log helps you organise checks and paperwork. It does not replace applicable regulations — verify official sources (NOTAM, UAS zones, authorities) before every flight.
